Three of Elgin's local historians, E.C. Mike Alft, Bill Briska and Jerry Turnquist talk at length at this rebroadcast of a January 20th Elgin Community Network presentation.  Part of the continuing Elgin Alive series, the three are lead in the discussion by Dave Kaptain, as they cover the events from the late 1800's through the mid 1900's.  This presentation is in two parts and covers common practices for waste disposal, water conservation and more.

Many scientists now say, we have peaked on oil production. It goes  down from here.  No oil?  What about travel - our cars?  We aren't set up in the suburbs for this. How will it change where we live, how we get around?  Many say it will take some retooling and rethinking the way we live, where we work, where our goods come from and more.
